BNI Heartland is highlighting chapters that are aligning themselves with our vision.  This month’s category is Chapter Education Units (CEU).  Our vision is for each member to record one CEU per week.  The BNI BreakfastClub Chapter, during the last 6 months, has averaged 46.01 CEUs per member, which is over 1 per week! Here are some of their insights on achieving our BNI Heartland vision: 

What is your chapter's key to success?  

Developing individual relationships with the members of the chapter that in time benefit the group as a hole. This is done with quality One to One's and weekly participation in chapter meetings. I feel we have quality members and each do their part in making the chapter great.

When thinking of your chapter’s CEUs, how do you define the member value?  

Tough Question, Each member is different. I asked our chapter members this question during our weekly meeting. Here is a list of the top three answers;

  1. Continuing Education means being more up to do date with our trades. For example; Realtors have to meet a CEU Requirement each year. This in turn keeps them on top of their game. I for example; have to keep requirements and CEU's to keep my certifications that generate high grade warranties which in turn themselves generate business.
  2. BNI CEU's through the podcast or visiting other chapters keep's members up to date on the latest trends in networking. Learning valuable tools to network. Visiting Chapters not only helps with the Givers Gain Philosophy but helps you be Visibly, Creditable and ultimately Profitable. 
  3. Combining the above statements, the value to each member builds trust among other members. Showing that you are dedicated to your line of work and also to the chapter provides many more opportunities to generate and receive referrals. 

What success do you want for your chapter members?  

The members should expect more referrals and better quality customers from BNI. For most professions, repeat business is great. I know amongst my peer circle I've been known as the person having "A Person For That".  I would like to have our chapter members have the success measured equal to another sales person for their respective business.
